After lunch, drive into downtown Lima to experience Saint Francis of Assisi, walking under the temple’s catacombs. After that, continue on the journey by driving to the Larco Museum, the largest and most important museum in the world. In the evening, have a hearty private dinner at the museum with pisco sour as your welcome drink. Head back to the hotel to cap off the day’s adventure.
Begin the day with an early adventure to Cusco. Prepare for your early morning pickup before heading to the airport for your local flight. Upon arrival in Cusco, meet your local guide, who will accompany you on the 2-hour drive to the Sacred Valley. Then, head on to Hacienda Huayoccari for a welcome lunch and enjoy a hearty meal while enjoying the view of the Andes. Head to your hotel to check in late in the afternoon afterwards.
Begin the day early as you take a drive to the Sacred Valley, going to Ollantaytambo, the most impressive archeological site, together with your local guide and its guided visit to get to know more about this amazing place. The next stop should be the Moray Circular Terraces, where you'll get an in-depth look at how the Incas used astronomy to improve crop yields. Head on next to the Salt Pond of Maras, where you will see how the best salt in the world is extracted: Maras salt. After that, relax with a gourmet Andean picnic in the center of the mountains while taking in the stunning Andes and lake views. Head back to your hotel afterwards to cap off the day.
Today, the adventure begins with a drive through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, cherishing its amazing scenery until you reach Viacha, a local community. Here, meet the host, Waldir, and his family, who will show you their amazing activities you can partake in, including fishing, mother earth ceremonies, and textile making featuring its natural color. Then, lunch will be served by a chef in the community with an amazing view of the heart of the Andes. After lunch, hike downhill into the archeological site of Pisac and enjoy the scenery and history of the ancient Incas. In the late afternoon, take a drive back to your hotel to rest and stay for the night.
Get ready for a unique day of exploration as you hike the Inca Trail! Start off by taking a trip up to Chinchero, a town in the highlands located at an altitude of 12,505 feet, where you can learn all about the incredible Inca civilization. Hike down the slope to 9000 feet after exploring the archaeological site, including Inca temples and palaces. Take in the breathtaking scenery, including lush waterfalls and ancient Inca structures. After a 4-hour hike, you will arrive at the picnic lunch in the community of Urquillos. Here, enjoy a sumptuous luxury picnic before heading back to the hotel for the rest of the afternoon.
Today, explore the ancient Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Begin with a drive to the train station before embarking on a Vistadome train heading to the town of Machu Picchu. Take in the breathtaking Andean panorama along the way. After arriving in Machu Picchu, check into Inkaterra by Machu Picchu Pueblo, the most recommended hotel. Once settled, head to the restaurant, where you can eat lunch to your heart’s content. Then, proceed to Machu Picchu to enjoy a late afternoon of exploration with an amazing sunset. After that, head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
If you are an early riser, enjoy an optional excursion to Machu Picchu early in the morning today so you can enjoy the sunrise and capture the morning glory. This morning is ideal for taking it easy and acclimating to Cusco's high altitude. From the hotel, take a drive to the alpaca farm, where you can learn more about these amazing Peruvian animals and feed them. Here, you may also buy authentic baby alpaca souvenirs to bring back some memories of this wonderful experience. Then, continue on to Sacsayhuaman, an Incan fortress and one of the world's most incredible structures. After that, head on to visit Coricancha, the Sun Temple, at midday to enjoy and relax in Cusco.
A new adventure awaits you today! Begin the journey with a 3-hour drive from Cusco to the southern mountains. Here, discover the amazing landscapes of the rainbow mountain named Palcoyo at 16,500 feet. The walk would take about 2 hours back and forth to see the three rainbow mountains and the rock forest. Once you have already enjoyed the morning hike and adventure, prepare to have a picnic lunch on the river site to refresh and relax before heading back to Cusco late in the afternoon.
This day is dedicated to letting you explore the local market in San Pedro. Here, take in the sights of the surroundings, where you can also join the local vendors and purchase their produce together with the local, famous chef. Then, head back to the restaurant to start cooking your Peruvian food, along with a glass or two of Pisco Sour. Later in the afternoon, relax in downtown Cusco and enjoy your time there at the recommended coffee shops before going back to the hotel.
Today marks the end of your beautiful experience in the Mysteries of Peru. Prepare for your transfer to the Cusco airport for your flight back to Lima to connect with your international flight home.
