This Access Lite journey opens in Chengdu's cultural core, where a morning with giant pandas leads into afternoons spent in lantern-strung alleys and refined shopping quarters, then shifts entirely once the bullet train crosses into Guangxi. Guilin and Yangshuo slow the pace down, trading city rhythm for limestone peaks, illuminated caves, and a river cruise that moves at exactly the speed it should.

The Route, Day by Day
Days 1–2 · Chengdu, Fully Explored Arrival begins at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, home to China's most treasured resident, followed by Dongjiao Memory, a former industrial site refined into an art and café district. Day two moves through Chengdu's traditional side at Jinli Ancient Street and the restored courtyard lanes of Kuanzhai Alley, tea houses and Sichuan snacks included, before the afternoon turns toward the city's more polished face at Chunxi Road and the open-air heritage-meets-retail quarter of Taikoo Li Chengdu.
Day 3 · Onward - Chengdu to Guilin A high-speed bullet train carries you into karst country. On arrival, the illuminated formations of Reed Flute Cave and a photo stop at the Sun and Moon Pagodas, reflected across Shanhu Lake, set a refined tone for the days ahead.
Day 4 · Guilin to Yangshuo, the Most Immersive Day on the Route Elephant Trunk Hill, a Li River cruise past the region's signature peaks, and the countryside stretch known as Ten Mile Gallery lead to Moon Hill's natural stone arch. The day winds down with time to wander Yangshuo's West Street at your own pace, cafés and local markets included.
Day 5 · Departure An unhurried final morning before your transfer to the airport for the flight home.

This journey runs five days and four nights. The current departure is scheduled for October 23–27, 2026, and late October falls within one of the best windows for this route: Chengdu's humidity has eased, and Guilin's karst scenery is typically clear of the summer haze that can settle over the Li River in peak season. Cooler mornings and mild afternoons make the walking-heavy days in Yangshuo and the Chengdu alleys considerably more comfortable, and give the landscapes their sharpest light for photographs.

Do Filipino travelers need a visa for China? Yes. Philippine passport holders are not on mainland China's visa-free list, so a standard tourist (L) visa is required for this route. How physically demanding is the itinerary? Most days are city- and countryside-paced, with guided walks through old towns, gardens, and markets, plus private transport between stops. The Yangshuo countryside stretch (Ten Mile Gallery, Moon Hill, West Street) and Chengdu's alley visits involve a fair amount of walking on uneven or cobbled ground, so comfortable, broken-in shoes are recommended. Everything else on the route is accessible at a relaxed pace.
