Welcome to London! Upon arrival, meet and greet your local guide before being privately transferred to your hotel for check in and overnight stay.
Begin the day with a departure from London for York. You'll spend a little time in Cambridge, a city known for its illustrious educational institutions, such as Trinity College, and gorgeous residential colleges. Stop for pictures at King's and Queen's Colleges, the Fitzwilliam Museum, and the Mathematical Bridge before going back en route to York. Check out the magnificent Castle Howard and spend part of your free time exploring Shambles Street, a well-known thoroughfare lined with well-preserved medieval houses, some of which date back to the 14th century. After that, it's time to head to your hotel for the night.
Today we will cross into Scotland. En route, stop by Durham, a quaint medieval town with a beautiful cathedral situated in front of the castle, and take in the sights along the way. Then, continue on to Hexham to see the Housesteads Roman Fort—Hadrian's Wall, a site included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Then, arrive in the capital city of Scotland, which is Edinburgh. Check into your hotel and spend the night.
After breakfast, begin the adventure with a visit to Edinburgh Castle to see the Honours of Scotland, the Stone of Destiny, and Mons Meg. See the Palace of Holyroodhouse at the end of the Royal Mile. On this day, you also get to see the famous St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh University, and the National Gallery. Then, head on to Carlton Hill, a mix of bustling commercial areas and quiet residential streets. The hill itself, with its city views, is home to the Collective contemporary art gallery and the unfinished National Monument.
Continue your European journey towards Glasgow today. The first stop is Stirling Castle, a vital medieval stronghold perched atop its rocky summit since 1000 B.C. The castle was once the home of Scottish royals, including Mary, Queen of Scots, and it features beautiful architecture and furnishings. Then, upon arrival in Glasgow, enjoy free time exploring the city. See the city's key landmarks, including Tolbooth Steeple, Clyde Arc, Cineworld, the University of Glasgow, Kelvingrove Gallery, and many more. Afterwards, check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
The morning starts as you depart for Liverpool. On the way, get a view of the magnificent Ullswater Lake and the town of Chester. Then, upon arrival in Liverpool, discover and explore more about the popular Beatles story. The tale describes their rise to stardom and their eventual departure from Liverpool. You will get to see many famous and interesting places, including their homes, schools, birthplaces, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, and many other landmarks associated with The Beatles. Afterwards, head on to your hotel to check in and stay overnight.
Today, travel to Stratford-upon-Avon and enjoy the county's scenic countryside. Upon arrival, visit Anne Hathaway's cottage in Shottery before heading to Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford. Then, proceed to Gloucester, where you can stop and visit its magnificent cathedral. After that, drive through Caerphilly to see Caerphilly Castle, a mythical castle floating in an enchanted lake. Afterward, head on to Cardiff, where you will stay for the night.
Begin the day with an early drive to Bath. Standing proudly on the slopes of the River Avon, beautiful Bath was the first city in England to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, take in the sights as you visit the Roman Baths Museum. Then, pass by Castle Combe, a quintessentially English village often named the "prettiest village in England." Then, transfer to Amesbury to visit the mysterious Stonehenge, which is also one of the most famous prehistoric monuments in the world, dating back nearly 5000 years.
Start the morning with a photo stop at Westminster Abbey before we head to Buckingham Palace, the official royal residence of His Majesty the King. Watch the world famous changing of the guard, where we will see the King's soldiers, dressed in their fabulous tunics and bugles, march to military music (if schedule permits). We will then take in the Tower of London and view the River Thames as we continue our way around the exciting and historical city of London.
