Day 1: Lima
Welcome to Peru! Upon arrival in Lima, our team will seamlessly help you check into the hotel. The rest of the day is yours to spend exploring at your leisure.
Day 2: Lima
Discover Lima’s cultural heartbeat as you explore the neighborhoods of Miraflores, Barranco, and Chorrillos. Visit Huaca Pucllana, an ancient archaeological site set amid the modern city. Enjoy a taste of local life along the coast or in one of Lima’s world-renowned restaurants.
Day 3: Lima – Cusco
Fly to Cusco and journey through the Sacred Valley, surrounded by breathtaking Andean views. Spend the afternoon at leisure, adjusting to the altitude and savoring the calm of this storied landscape.
Day 4: Sacred Valley – Chincheros – Maras – Moray – Ollantaytambo
Visit the traditional weaving village of Chincheros, the salt terraces of Maras, and the circular terraces of Moray. End the day exploring the ancient fortress of Ollantaytambo, a striking reminder of Inca ingenuity.
Day 5: Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Travel by train to the legendary Machu Picchu, one of the world’s greatest archaeological wonders. Wander its temples, terraces, and plazas, learning about its history and mystery before returning to Cusco.
Day 6: Cusco
Spend the day discovering Cusco’s cobblestone streets, colorful markets, and Inca-colonial architecture. You also have the option to join a guided hike to Rainbow Mountain for sweeping views of Peru’s natural beauty.
Day 7: Cusco – Buenos Aires
Fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital of art and energy. The rest of the day is yours, whether you want to enjoy dinner at a local parrilla or experience the city’s vibrant nightlife.
Day 8: Buenos Aires
Begin with a city visit through Plaza de Mayo, San Telmo, Palermo, and colorful La Boca. Visit Recoleta, home to cafés, boutiques, and one of the world’s most famous cemeteries.
Day 9: Buenos Aires – San Antonio de Areco
Experience Gaucho culture in San Antonio de Areco, where Argentina’s rural traditions come alive. Stroll the countryside, enjoy a traditional barbecue, and soak in the warm spirit of the Pampas.
Day 10: Buenos Aires – El Calafate
Fly south to El Calafate, gateway to Patagonia’s frozen landscapes. Settle in and take in the view of vast skies, wild peaks, and the promise of adventure ahead.
Day 11: El Calafate – Perito Moreno Glacier
Witness the awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier inside Los Glaciares National Park. Listen to the crack of shifting ice and watch nature’s artistry unfold before your eyes.
Day 12: El Calafate – El Chaltén
Travel along the legendary Route 40 toward El Chaltén, a mountain village surrounded by the Andes. Marvel at Mount Fitz Roy, the Viedma Glacier, and pristine Patagonia scenery before returning to El Calafate.
Day 13: El Calafate
Enjoy a slow morning exploring the town center, visiting local cafés, or shopping for handcrafted souvenirs before the next part of your journey.
Day 14: El Calafate – Rio de Janeiro
Fly to Brazil and arrive in the radiant city of Rio de Janeiro. Spend the afternoon relaxing on its golden beaches or watching the sunset from Copacabana.
Day 15: Rio de Janeiro
Visit Rio’s iconic landmarks: Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, and Corcovado Hill. End the day with an immersive visit to a favela community to understand the city’s contrasts.
Day 16: Rio de Janeiro – Iguazu Falls
Fly to Iguazu, home to one of the world’s largest and most dramatic waterfalls. Upon arrival, move at your pace: relax or take a short walk around the area.
Day 17: Iguazu Falls
Spend the day exploring Iguazu National Park and witnessing the power of its falls. You have optional experiences including a paddle ride or a helicopter flight for a bird’s-eye view. Celebrate your final night with a Brazilian dinner.
Day 18: Iguazu
This day marks the end of your journey to South America. Depart from the hotel after breakfast, transfer to the airport, and take your flight back home.

Should the minimum requirement for the Access Journeys not be met, our upcoming trip will proceed with the current number of participants. Access Travel will do its best to upgrade travelers to a private tour. However, rates for the private tour are not guaranteed to be the same as the original trip rates.
